  3. I would like to draw your kind attention to the fact that…

  4. I am writing this application to request…

  5. I wish to inform you that…

  6. I would like to bring to your notice that…

  7. I humbly wish to state that…

  9. I am writing to seek your permission for…

  10. I am writing this application regarding…

  11. Through this application, I wish to request…

Traditional school-exam style

  1. With due respect, I beg to state that…

  2. Most respectfully, I beg to say that…

  3. I respectfully submit that…

  4. With great respect, I would like to state that…

Teaching tip: Tell students that “I beg to state” is grammatically acceptable in traditional formal applications, but “I would like to state/submit…” sounds more natural in modern formal English.

Students often repeat “The reason is that…”. Give them alternatives:

  • The reason for my request is that…

  • I am unable to… because…

  • Unfortunately, I am unable to…

  • Due to …, I will not be able to…

  • Because of the above-mentioned reason,…

  • In view of the circumstances,…

  • I would greatly appreciate it if you could…

  • I kindly seek your permission to…

  • I seek your kind permission to…

  • I would like to seek your approval for…

  • I request your kind consideration regarding…

Example: Leave

They can write:

I would be grateful if you could grant me leave for two days.

I seek your kind permission to remain absent from school for two days.

4. “Therefore” Alternatives

You should know that therefore isn't the only connecting word.

Instead of:

I, therefore, request you…

They can use:

  • Hence, I request you to…

  • Therefore, I kindly request you to…

  • Thus, I request you to…

  • For this reason, I request you to…

  • In view of the above, I request you to…

  • Considering the circumstances, I request you to…

  • Keeping the above-mentioned situation in mind, I request you to…

  • I would, therefore, request you to…

  • I would thus request you to…

  • Under these circumstances, I request you to…

A particularly good formal expression:

In view of the above circumstances, I kindly request you to consider my application.

Answer: Magnesium ribbon should be cleaned before burning because a thin layer of magnesium oxide (MgO) forms on its surface when it reacts with oxygen in air. This layer prevents magnesium from burning properly. Cleaning removes the oxide layer and helps the magnesium ribbon burn easily with a bright white flame. Topic Explanation Magnesium is a very reactive metal. When it remains exposed to air, it reacts slowly with oxygen. The reaction is: 2Mg + O2 → 2MgO Here: Mg = Magnesium O₂ = Oxygen MgO = Magnesium oxide The magnesium oxide forms a dull white coating on the ribbon. Important Concept This reaction is a: ➤ Combination Reaction Because two substances combine to form one produc...

How to Prepare Mathematics — Smart Way, Not Hard Way

How to Prepare Mathematics — Smart Way, Not Hard Way Maths padhne ka sabse bada problem yeh hai ki students ise “ratne” ki cheez samajh lete hain, jabki reality bilkul opposite hai. Maths ek subject nahi, ek skill hai. Aur skill sirf ek tarike se develop hoti hai — practice + understanding + patience . Aaj main tumhe wahi tarika bataunga jo smart students use karte hain, lekin simple language mein — jise tum apni daily study mein apply kar sako.  1. Maths ko samajhna hai, yaad nahi karna Sabse pehle mindset change karo. Formula yaad karne se kuch nahi hoga agar tumhe pata hi nahi ki wo aaya kahan se hai. Example: Agar tum (a + b)² ka formula ratte ho, toh ek din bhool jaoge. Lekin agar samajh liya ki (a + b)(a + b) expand karke a² + 2ab + b² aata hai — toh kabhi nahi bhoologe. 👉 Rule: Har formula ke peeche ka logic samjho.  2. Strong base banao — basics ko ignore mat karo Bahut students directly tough level pe jump kar dete hain. Yeh sabse badi galti hai. 👉 Strong st...
